Spring is finally here! What better time to gather friends and family for a delicious lunch – complete with seasonal flowers, crisp cotton napkins and beautiful place settings. We show you how to create a beautiful spring table…
Start with the flowers – daffodils, narcissi and tulips are plentiful at the moment, either picked fresh from the garden or from your local florist.
Trim the stems at an angle with a sharp knife or scissors, enabling the flowers to drink more water and prolonging the life of your blooms. Then gather into several small posies, twisting the bunch gently in your hand as you pick up the flowers.
Then simply tie with a ribbon in a contrasting shade (we’ve used classic dove grey) and pop in a jam jar. You could also use vintage tea pots, Kilner jars or earthenware jugs to create interesting displays. Position around the centre line of your table, adding little treats like mini chocolate eggs at Easter time.
Then add the finishing touches with a beautiful napkin and matching placemat and coaster. Et voilà! You are ready to entertain in style.
