Nasturtium Negroni

Thornback & Peel Negroni

I think it’s safe to say that, weather-wise, we are having an absolutely stunning summer. The clear blue skies and soaring temperatures call for al-fresco dining and ice-cold drinks. Having planted nasturtium seeds in our earlier blog post, I decided to harvest some of the leaves and flowers to make a delicious botanical cocktail. Look how well the little seedlings have grown!…..

NASTURTIUM NEGRONI INGREDIENTS:

(makes 1 glass)

1 ½ oz Gin

1 ½ oz Dry vermouth

1 ½ oz Suze Liquer (can substitute with Campari / Aperol)

Nasturtium flowers to garnish

Handful of ice

Having cut a few flowers and leaves, I headed indoors to make the cocktails.

RECIPE: Pop your nasturtium leaves into your cocktail shaker and give them a quick muddle. Add a handful of ice cubes to the shaker, along with the 3 spirits, and give the whole thing a good shake.

Fill your glass with more ice, and strain the cocktail into the glass. Decorate with the vibrant flowers, add a colourful paper straw, and enjoy!
